Andrew Marshall has been appointed executive chairman of Ster-Kinekor Theatres.

He has 15 years’ experience as the CEO of JSE-listed companies. He spent five years as CEO of Nampak, was CEO of fishing and cold storage company Oceana for 10 years, and co-founded and is a director of Pretire, an elite recruitmen­t company.

Mohammed Chavoos has been appointed president of the Gauteng chapter of the South African Society for Labour Law. He is a director in the employment and labour practice at Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa, focusing on all areas of employment and labour law. He has also been an acting judge of the Labour Court.

Business risk specialist Bryte has promoted Collin Molepe to the role of deputy CEO. He was the chief operations officer.

Molepe has also been appointed MD of Bryte Life.

“I believe Bryte is well on its way to transformi­ng the way insurers meet the dynamic needs of all South Africans,” he said.

Law firm Webber Wentzel has appointed Warren Hero chief informatio­n officer.

Hero joins Webber Wentzel from Microsoft, where he was chief technology officer for the South African operations.

Managing partner Sally Hutton said: “His appointmen­t follows the launch of technology-related initiative­s to improve efficienci­es.”
