The improbable journey

Xolani Luvuno is relishing the prospect of doing an Iron Man. Even the half race should be a daunting prospect, with a 1.9km swim, a 90km cycle and 21km run. “Swimming is no problem for me, I’m from the coast. That 1.9km, it’s so small, it’s not too much,” says the former beggar who now checks orders. “I work with pen and paper — I never saw that after dropping out of school.”
