No last dance in last-laugh saloon

Barry the dancer was in the mood to lecture his present and past enemies on democracy. This is what he had to say about how others practise the system.

“We have to stop pretending that countries that just hold elections where the winner somehow magically gets 90% of the vote because all the opposition is locked up or can’t get on TV is a democracy. Democracy depends on strong institutions,” he said.

Putin, the clear target of this jibe, in Twitter lingo, must be laughing in “rigged US elections”.
