SEE THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
It sounds like a cliché but this rust-red suspension bridge — 2km long and 230m high — is deservedly popular. When you stand under one of its towers and look up, it will take your breath away. There are lots of ways to see the bridge: from up high (the Vista Point), down low (Marshall’s Beach) or up close. Talk your time and walk across it and marvel at the view, the engineering, the sheer spectacle. You can also take a guided tour on bikes across the bridge to Sausalito.
