Pit-toilet deaths so unnecessary
“I fear my pupils may die in pit toilets”, a headline in the Sunday Times of August 9, made me extremely upset.
North West school infrastructure backlog of billions? Where has the budget gone? This government has no concern for anyone but itself. That young children die in pit toilets shows gross negligence on the part of teachers as well. How much “teaching” is being done under trees in case the roof falls down?
The parliamentary portfolio committee looking into the matter said technology should be used to ensure ablution facilities are installed at a fraction of current costs.
Let us all hope something is done about this before election time.
