FRENCH ART’S AN­CIENT ROOTS

Vis­i­tors ad­mire repli­cas of palae­olithic cave art, be­lieved to have been painted 17,000 years ago, at the Sci-Bono Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre in Newtown, Jo­han­nes­burg. The orig­i­nal paint­ings are in the Las­caux cave, near the vil­lage of Mon­tignac in Dor­dogne, France.
