Tsamaya This week’s soccer buzz

-

● Tsamaya still wonders how on earth someone allowed the talent of Percy Tau to be wasted in a club playing in the second division of Belgium. This week Tau showed why he must leave Royale Union Saint-Gilloise as soon as possible when he starred as his team beat Belgium giants Anderlecht 3-0 away from home in a cup tie on Thursday.

The sooner Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton makes another plan for Tau, the better it will be for all concerned. Tau’s silky skills simply belong to a better league than that Mvela wa ko Belgium.

● Everybody knows that the Gqom and Maskandi music spins a lot of people’s heads in Durban, but pumping it to every soul landing in the banana city could be stretching it. This is exactly what the entertainers at the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium delivered yesterday, with maskandi artists like Khuzani running the show. A song or two of the other genres would surely keep everyone on their feet.

● In his praise of Cape Town City midfielder Teko Modise’s longevity in the game of football, SuperSport United defender Morgan Gould delivered a classic quote this week.

”And he’s – I don’t like wine‚ so I don’t know what wine tastes like – but Teko has matured like wine,” said Gould.

We suggest Gould meets Tsamaya for wine classes so that he will know exactly what Modise is developing into.
