Bonanza for engineers and mines
Help Shaft Sinkers turn big and small machines into cash
● Park Village Auctions (PVA) will soon make available assets stemming from the internationally acclaimed pioneers of vertical sinking shafts, Shaft Sinkers, which is in business rescue.
The sale falls under the auspices of PVA’s business rescue division, which specialises in facilitating sales that will help businesses that are experiencing difficulties to raise capital.
PVA’s LeRoy Augustyn says most companies that fall under this banner are simply in need of a capital injection to continue operating and therefore represent an excellent opportunity for investors.
“We expect to see a good showing at the upcoming sale. The assets and parts up for grabs will, naturally, appeal to those involved in mining and engineering and, further, represent a great opportunity for those who run metal salvage, recycling, and recovery operations as well.”
Assets to go under the hammer include five Compair L250-7 air compressors, a 30t overhead crane, assorted 800Kva, 2,000Kva and 2,500Kva transformers, winder motors, winder drum halves, welding machines, high-pressure washers, bull bearings, steel containers, sheaves, lathes, pedestal drills, hydraulic power packs, milling machines, hydraulic presses, work benches, tool boxes and shelving.
Under the banner of spare parts, winder control panels, lashing unit gearboxes, lashing gear brakes, electric motors, crossheads, hydraulic cylinders, sheave wheels, cactus grabs, S40 drill parts, loader tracks, ventilation fans, winder spare parts, hydraulic hoses and batch plant spares will be sold.
Vehicles to be auctioned include two 2010 Hino 500-1,626 rigid trucks, seven 2011 Toyota Hilux 2.5 D4D LDVs, three 2010
Mazda BT50 2.5TDI LDVs, a 2012 Toyota Quantum 2.7 minibus, five 2012 Ford Ranger 2.5 LDVs, a 2006 Tata 713 rigid truck, a 2007 Toyota HiAce minibus, an Iveco minibus and a Volkswagen Transporter minibus.

Finally, assorted office furniture including desks, chairs, filing cabinets and computers will also be on the block.
The auction will commence at 10.30am on Thursday October 4, at Rand Yard, Main Reef Road, Randfontein.
Viewing will be held at the same venue on October 2 and 3 from 9am to 4pm.
