Attracting compound interest

Malusi Gigaba, the minister of home affairs and affairs out of the home, assigned an hour of his busy schedule last Saturday night to address “the narrative that I was ever/am captured by the Guptas”.

It did not go so well. Gigaba was pelted with questions he could not answer as he struggled to make a convincing case that he had not been Guptarised.

Hogarth could not help but wonder about the timing of the Gigaba confessions, on the weekend of the ANC national executive committee meeting. Gigabyte must have picked up that he is no longer the heir apparent at Luthuli House and that his chances of survival in the New Dawn are getting slimmer.

Gigs should get in the queue to visit justice Raymond Zondo. He needs to assign more than an hour to explain his visits to the Gupta compound, though.
