THE SOAP OF GOOD HOPE
Ever wondered what happens to that bar of hotel soap that you use but don’t finish? Most of it — regrettably — is thrown away. In the US alone, some two million bars of partially used hotel soap are thrown away every day, says recycling NGO Clean The World, which collects and recycles discarded soap from hotels and redistributes it for humanitarian purposes. Since 2009, the NGO has distributed more than 41 million bars of soap in 118 countries.
