King of the world
From development player to developer: Thabang Moroe played soccer until cricket administrator Ali Bacher’s efforts at transformation introduced cricket to his primary school in Soweto. Moroe’s bowling talent put him at the top of the list of ”quota players” selected in the 1990s, and his leadership skills made him a natural choice as an administrator. He rose through club and provincial ranks to become CEO of Cricket South Africa, the governing body for the sport in the country. The picture on the left was taken in 2013 when Moroe was president of the Gauteng Cricket Board. The above picture shows Moroe last week in his CSA office.
