Black looks over lighter shade of pale

-

Yalitza Aparicio, the Mexican actress nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film Roma, has come under fire for allowing a doctored photograph of herself to be released. Outraged fans took to Twitter to complain about how light her skin tone was in an advert for a Lenovo computer. According to Mexico News Daily, the actress later admitted that her skin tone had been digitally altered in the image but said it hadn’t upset her. One Twitter user wrote: “They bleached Yalitza in this photo for Lenovo, the only things we should bleach are clothes and sheets.” Aparicio is only the second Mexican actress to be nominated for a best actress award at the Oscars. The first was the light-skinned Selma Hayek.
