The Quinta Real is a luxury hotel in Zacatecas, Mexico, that was built around the restored 19th-century San Pedro bullfighting ring.

Inaugurated in 1866, the bullring hosted some of the region’s greatest bullfighting stars until it was closed down in 1975.

The still-intact arena now serves as a stunning central patio, overlooked by the hotel’s restaurant, while the brickwalled bar is where the bullpens, pictured, used to be.
