Indulge in the Joburg Prawn Festival

-

The Joburg Prawn Festival, taking place on Saturday 30 March at Turffontein Racecourse, coincides with one of the major race days of the year - the third and final leg of the Triple Crown and Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara series.

There will undoubtedly be world class racing on the day, but to keep everyone entertained between the races there is plenty on offer.

Horseracing is and always will be the star of the show on the day, but it doesn’t hurt to race down to Turffontein Racecourse for a big portion of succulent prawns.

A variety of prawn dishes will be served in the beer garden.

If seafood isn’t your thing, there will be plenty of food trucks with an array of other exciting dishes to tantalise your taste buds.

And what is a raceday without heaps of prizes to be won? Visitors to the course will once again stand a chance of going home with some wonderful freebees, but you have to be there to be a winner.

To ensure everyone in the family is taken care of on the day, a kids only designated area will be available.

Gates open at 11am sharp and entrance is free, so make sure you all get to Turffontein on Saturday, 30th March to enjoy a fabulous day at the races.

The main races are the R2,000,000 SA Derby (Grade 1), the final leg of the Triple Crown, as well as the R750,000 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks (Grade 2), the final leg of the Triple Tiara.
