All eyes on big Maboneng auction

-

● Park Village Auctions says it’s “all systems go” for its colossal mixed-use property auction on April 15, which promises high energy and fierce bidding.

Company executive Jaco du Toit reports that the auction house has received a flood of inquiries from a broad cross-section of buyers over recent weeks, “from property developers and fund managers to a host of private experienced and first-time buyers. The market has reacted with resounding favourable interest.”

According to du Toit, the eclectic mix of potential buyers is as diverse as the attractive attributes of the Maboneng Precinct, the foremost being:

● Location, location, location. Maboneng is situated just outside the Johannesburg CBD and it is easily accessible via several main and arterial routes, and public transport. Its proximity to business and retail nodes, schools and recreational amenities means that residents enjoy convenience at every turn.

● Tourism hot spot. The tapestry of cultural, artistic and trendy sites and activities beckons tourists from all over the globe.

● Investor confidence. Not only have leading investors thrown their weight behind the rejuvenation of Maboneng but the inner city as a whole. The construction of the first building of the Jewel City redevelopment project is already under way, following Newtown’s successful gentrification.

● Affordable affluence. Few residential suburbs strike a balance between chic and affordable the way Maboneng does. The Drive Lines container apartments, fitted with beautiful all-recyclable material furnishings, are a prime example. They cater to the younger market’s desire for sustainable, ultramodern living and budget.

● Endless entertainment. Fittingly named the “place of light” in Sesotho, the

Maboneng Precinct fulfils everyone’s “bright lights” ambitions with an endless array of entertainment. It has everything from restaurants, avant-garde art galleries and markets to the Bioscope, guided tours, artisanal shops and luxury hotels.

The upcoming auction will feature a range of commercial and residential sectional-title units, retail shops, parking spaces, restaurants, a boutique hotel, and a rooftop entertainment area in the Maboneng Precinct as well as two KwaZulu-Natalbased commercial properties.

The auction will take place at The Venue, Melrose Arch, at noon tomorrow. For more information or to arrange a viewing, interested parties can contact Jaco Du Toit on 0827989476.
