Fleets of vehicles on block in two sales
● New vehicle sales figures are depressed, but second-hand vehicle demand remains buoyant. That’s the word from Park Village Auctions (PVA) as it announces two consecutive vehicle auctions.
PVA has secured a bevy of commercial and passenger vehicles from genuine bank repossession and liquidation matters. Speaking of the highlights of the sales, head of asset disposal Le Roy Augustyn pointed out that two large logistics fleets will be up for grabs “at much lower than dealer prices”.
According to Augustyn, demand for goodquality, reliable second-hand stock remains strong. “New vehicles are becoming more expensive to manufacture and, in turn, to buy. Yet this has not quelled the market’s need to acquire newer wheels.
“As such, buyers are turning to auctions as a viable alternative to get their hands on affordable, reputable, second-hand vehicles.”
The auction will range from luxury SUVs, executive passenger sedans and superbikes to salvaged cars. It starts at 10.30am on April 24 at 221 Main Road, Martindale, Johannesburg. Viewing will take place on the 23rd from 9am-4pm.
On April 25, PVA’s truck and trailer auction will showcase a variety of bankrepossessed, liquidated and deceased-estate units comprising commercial trucks, trailers, agricultural and yellow-metal equipment.
“This is the auction that fleet and logistics managers will most certainly be waiting for,” said Augustyn. He said that two “massive” logistics fleets stemming from liquidation matters will be the main attractions.
Other notable lots include 2013-2016 Iveco 480 Stralis truck tractors, 2015-2017 Paramount Tautliner side-tipper and dropside link trailers, 2018 Mercedes-Benz 2645 truck tractors, 2011-2017 Freightliner Argosy Detroit/Cummins and Cat truck tractors, and 2011-2017 Afrit Tautliner link trailers.
The truck auction will start at 10.30am at Gate 2, 1 Nasrec Road, with viewing on site the day before from 9am-4pm.
