TRESemmé global stylist and celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan shares her favourite hair trends and tips for this season

-

What was it about the TRESemmé brand that aligned with your personal brand?

When I first started talking to TRESemmé more than two years ago, they were on a female empowerment mission. Since then, I’ve been honoured to be a part of TRESemmé’s all-femaleled team at fashion week. As part of this initiative, I’ve been on several femalecurated panels to talk about women, beauty, and making it in the industry. I love how forward thinking the brand is and how open it is to collaboration, diversity and inclusion.

What is your favourite TRESemmé hair product, and why?

My must-have is TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray. It’s a strong-hold hairspray that offers flexibility and movement without stiffness or sticky residue.

What hair trends on social media or on the streets are you excited about? Hair accessories are having a major moment on social media. I’m excited to be able to contribute with my collection of hair accessories with Kitsch that launched late last year. Which hair trend do you think people should leave behind in 2019? Reverse ombre. No one needs that.

Which show from past NYFW was your favourite to work on?

The neon hair streaks and extra long ponytails at the Alice and Olivia SS19 show.

Which shows were you excited to create looks for this season? Cushnie and Christian Siriano. They put on amazing shows and the hair was so beautiful for both.

Your go-to hairstyle for rushed days that still looks like you put in some effort? Relaxed waves. Now that my hair is longer, I only wash it once or twice a week. On my off days, I sleep on a silk pillowcase to prevent frizz and bedhead. In the morning, I curl large sections around a ghd soft curl iron and run a small amount of TRESemmé Keratin smooth shine oil through the ends.
