Envolée by Cristina Celestino

Architect and designer, Milan

-

Inspired by butterfly wings, Envolée employes different pile heights to recreate the geometry of a microscopic view of this natural pattern. “My goal was to present the design of a texture,” says Celestino. “I’m always looking for recognisable shapes in my work, rather than purely geometric motifs, and nature is a consistent source of inspiration.” Exploring various shades of pink, the result is a mixture of wool and linen that invites one to revel in the contrasting textures underfoot.
