Parvata by Jean-Marie Massaud
Architect and product designer, Paris
Available in both a rounded and rectangular version, Parvata is an interpretation of the natural patterns in Himalayan rocks. Named for the Nepali word for mountain, it is a homage to the country in which it is produced. “This project is a collaboration for cc-tapis’s NPO, and is a design for the people of Nepal,” says Massaud of the limited-edition product whose profits will go to cc-for education, the company’s foundation. The NPO funds school and university education for the children of the weavers with whom cc-tapis works.
