Apple plans budget iPhone for next year

-

Apple is expected to release a low-cost iPhone in 2020 in an attempt to win back market share from rivals Huawei and Samsung.

It will be similar in size to the iPhone 8, which has a 4.7-inch display, and will have the same internal components as this year’s flagship iPhones, says Japan’s Nikkei Asian Review. However, it could have a lower-quality liquid crystal display, to cut costs.

The new iPhone would be the first low-cost Apple smartphone since the iPhone SE, which was launched three years ago.
