● Nexans has appointed Arafat Yousef as its MD for the Middle East and Africa, responsible for growing Nexans Cabling Solutions’ business and market share.
He has more than 22 years’ experience in the regional IT and structured cabling industry and has held senior roles with organisations including Corning, 3M, Leviton and CNS.
● Publicis Africa has appointed Odette van der Haar MD. She has extensive industry experience and was most recently CEO at JWT Johannesburg. Before then, Van der Haar was the CEO of the Association for Communication and Advertising. She also spearheaded the rebirth and growth of the Apex awards.
● Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed David Kapelus co-leader of the litigation and insurance practice in the firm’s Johannesburg office, and Brent Botha has been appointed disputes practice group leader. Kapelus joined the firm in 1990 and specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, including insurance disputes, general liability, rail and transportrelated disputes, fires, personal injury litigation, and medical law and malpractice.
Botha joined Norton Rose Fulbright in 2005 as a candidate attorney and was retained as an associate in the commercial litigation team in 2007. After three years, he was promoted to director.
