SHINING IN THE LIGHT

This has been Thebe Magugu’s year. The young Kimberley-born and bred designer, who is a regular runway favourite at SA Fashion Week, took home the ultimate fashion prize this week — the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy LVMH Prize. Magugu and his brand came out on top against over 1,700 applications from designers across the globe. As the winner of the LVMH Prize, Magugu will receive €300,000 and benefit from a oneyear mentorship programme provided by a dedicated LVMH team. This is a well-deserved win for Magugu and his brand — and South Africa as a whole.
