In 2012, members of the Steubenville Ohio football team sexually assaulted a 16-yearold girl. In this current week of cries for action against femicide and the abusive treatment of women in South Africa, Nancy Schwartzman’s difficult to watch but undeniably powerful and hard-hitting documentary of the incident is a reminder to us all that rape culture has no place in our society and those who stay silent witnesses to it are as culpable as those who perpetrate it.
