Outstanding commitment
Hugo and Liesje Tempelman moved to SA in 1990 from The Netherlands, where he was a doctor and she a nurse. Together they built the Ndlovu Medical Centre, which opened in Elandsdoorn in 1994. In 2009 the Tempelmans were awarded the Martin Buber plaque by the Euriade, an international humanitarian group formed to promote understanding between people. The plaque, named after philosopher Martin Buber, who formulated the “dialogical principle”, honours those who show outstanding commitment to endorsing positive dialogue and helping the needy
