Outstandin­g commitment

Hugo and Liesje Tempelman moved to SA in 1990 from The Netherland­s, where he was a doctor and she a nurse. Together they built the Ndlovu Medical Centre, which opened in Elandsdoor­n in 1994. In 2009 the Tempelmans were awarded the Martin Buber plaque by the Euriade, an internatio­nal humanitari­an group formed to promote understand­ing between people. The plaque, named after philosophe­r Martin Buber, who formulated the “dialogical principle”, honours those who show outstandin­g commitment to endorsing positive dialogue and helping the needy
