Earlier in the week, Tsenoli was in a more jovial mood. National Assembly speaker Thandi Modise had asked him to chair the weekly programming committee meeting, which is usually her job.
A senior parliamentary official, known as Mr Bell, was requested to present when the meeting moved to an item on the status of bills before the Assembly.
Tsenoli erroneously referred to the official as Mr Bells. When corrected, he apologised and quipped: “I added an s there. No reflection of my state of thirst.” Give that man a Bells anyway. And make it a double.
