Double Dutch
Mzwandile Masina gave this week’s Mampara a run for her money, but even his moment of tweeting madness could not match Maite Nkoana-Mashabane’s comical performance at the Zondo commission this week. It was she who recommended Jacob Zuma’s Waterkloof landing fall-guy, Bruce Koloane, for the post of ambassador to the Netherlands. She displayed the highest level of ridiculousness when trying to justify her decision to the commission. Among her reasons was that Koloane was suspended for two months for his sins and had therefore been punished adequately. “He wasn’t sent to a big country. We sent him to a limited space … we had no other way of keeping him at home and doing nothing.” Firing the bugger never crossed this Mampara’s “hole in the head”.
