The trio who can make all the difference in Tokyo

-

● Luther Singh was unlucky not to get a goal or two in Egypt. It was his square pass though that provided SA’s first goal against Ghana as Habib Mohammed deflected it into his own net. With better supply and a sharp partner up front, he will score a lot of goals for SA. He looks ready now to make a return to Bafana where his start was not so good.

● Tebogo Mokoena was a vital cog in the whole campaign to get SA to Tokyo. In Egypt, the SuperSport United midfielder was a marvel to watch as a conductor of play in David Notoane’s team. His brilliant goal against Ivory Coast took SA to the decisive match against Ghana on Friday. He’s without doubt ready to graduate to Bafana Bafana where his tenacity is needed.

● Kamohelo Mahlatsi is on loan to the University of Pretoria in the National First Division from SuperSport United. He scored SA’s vital second goal against Ghana after coming on as a substitute. Indeed, he can change the game with his first touch and can be a super sub in Tokyo. His sense of direction in his play shows he’s maturing after being known as a winger.
