US President Donald Trump holds up a protective face shield on Thursday during a tour of a Ford plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan, that has been adapted to produce the shields, ventilators and other medical supplies needed for the Covid-19 pandemic. Trump sparked controversy by not wearing a face mask during much of his visit to the plant.
