The number of floors an Athens hotel will have to demolish following complaints from locals that it blocks their view of the Acropolis.

The 10-storey Coco-Mat Athens BC opened last year with planning permission, but after protests from residents – both before and after its completion – the city has ordered that it cannot exceed 24m. It currently stands at 31.5m, meaning its top two floors will have to go.

The hotel is set to reopen in June as Greece’s lockdown restrictions ease. It is unclear how or when the top two floors will be demolished.
