Women and numbers

When African Women Chartered Accountants was formed in 2002, there were 93 black African women chartered accountants in SA, out of a total of 20,903 qualified professionals (407 of them women).

Now SA has 47,244 chartered accountants in total — 7,308 are women and 3,641 of these are black African women.

The gap closes, albeit slowly, a little more each year.
