Tshepo Mhlongo

At the bottom in Tops

Thirsty South Africans flocked to liquor stores this week and a DA MP, Tshepo Mhlongo, was so eager to join the throng that he forgot he had work to do. During a virtual sitting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Mhlongo was outed by EFF MP Natasha Ntlangwini for logging into the session while at the same time selecting his purchases in a liquor store. There he was on video, wearing a pair of jeans, prancing around Tops in between six-packs while MPs were in a question-and-answer session with members of the security cluster. On Friday, his party tried to spin his shopping stint, claiming that he was at a grocery store and not a liquor store, but videos don’t lie. This mampara must leave legislative work to more serious MPs if his urge to drink during working hours is uncontrollable.
