Eskom’s decline

● On February 11 last year 4,000MW of power, enough to power about 3-million households, was cut from the national grid to prevent it from collapsing.

● Eskom provides 95% of SA’s electricity. In April last year at least 30% of its power stations were broken or closed for maintenance. Source: The Economist
