A doctor, or a mental patient?

- Dr Kholekile Shasha

This doctor in Queenstown, in the Eastern Cape, called in to SAfm’s morning show to offer his diagnosis of Andile Lungisa’s attack on a DA councillor and why the two-year jail sentence for assault is too harsh. “We have analysed this situation of Mr Andile Lungisa … We have concern [about] the jug and the reflex movement that occurred during this incident. We feel and understand that things that were spoken to him on the day and on the event did cause a psychological muscular reflex that caused him to do that action,” said Mamparashasha. His colleagues in Chile, Venezuela and Brazil agreed, he assured listeners. The South African Medical Association in the Eastern Cape quickly distanced itself from this quack. If Shasha is your GP, now might be a good time to seek a second opinion.
