● Sygnia has appointed David Hufton CEO. He will take over from Magda Wierzycka.

Hufton joined Sygnia in 2016 after more than 20 years at Alexander Forbes in various leadership positions.

Wierzycka said of Hufton: “His dedication to [Sygnia], its staff and its clients makes him the ideal candidate to take the company forward.”

● African Bank has appointed Maureen Manyama as a nonexecuti­ve director.She has headed various businesses as CFO, including the Hollard Insurance business unit, Airports Company SA and the SA Forestry Company.

African Bank chair Thabo Dloti said: “Maureen brings a wealth of experience and business savvy” to her role.

● Nortons Incorporat­ed has appointed Michael-James Currie a director.

The firm said the appointmen­t was a “recognitio­n for his commitment to clients, the leadership he has shown in several complex matters and the high quality of the legal expertise he has demonstrat­ed in a variety of matters”.

● Averda has appointed Justice Tootla as MD.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in various industries, including telecoms, oil & gas and manufactur­ing .

“I am very excited to be joining Averda, especially at this time when environmen­tal sustainabi­lity for future generation­s is our collective responsibi­lity,” said Tootla.
