Covid-linked emigration is wrong-headed and doesn’t pay

The article “Lockdown boosts emigration plans” (April 4) refers. I know things are bad in SA and there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, but I don’t get it when engineers and doctors leave their jobs to go and pack containers and deliver Amazon packages in the US. The R80,00090,000 a month is not much in the US anyway.
