Three other bizarre instances that took our breath away this week

- Andrea Nagel

1 NEW’S CAFE CAR CARNAGE It was all over the news early this week … a jealous lunatic repeatedly tried to drive his car into the restaurant in Rosebank after being turned away by bouncers. He was demanding to see his exgirlfriend, who didn’t want to see him. Not surprisingly, he was found to have been aided and abetted by alcohol. His first court appearance on Monday sobered him up, a bit too late.

2 CAITLYN JENNER RUNS FOR GOVERNOR It’s nothing but her lack of experience in politics that’s making us wonder WTF is going on with the California hustings. The former Olympic athlete and reality TV star will run as a Republican in the Democratic stronghold. Which makes us wonder, along with US comedian Bill Maher: doesn’t it feel just like being at home with the Kardashians, being in a party that doesn’t respect her?

3 BIDEN SAYS SA IS DANGEROUS According to the weekly newsletter Monday Musings, Joe Biden threw another spanner in our tourism works with a state department travel advisory that listed more than 80% of countries as “Do Not Travel”. The warning for SA? Violent, dangerous, unstable. The US president must be on the WhatsApp group passing around the video of the News Cafe carnage.
