APPROACHING THE PEAK OF WINTER

Snow covers the Drakensberg after the first proper cold front of the season made itself felt across much of the country this weekend. Temperatures in Sutherland in the Northern Cape dropped to -2°C overnight and places such as Phuthaditjhaba in the Free State shivered at near zero.
