An inspiring documentar­y about the stars of the WNBA who had to play their basketball during the 2020 season under what became known as the “wubble”, and then were forced to make tough decisions about their role as sports stars in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and the hardhittin­g angry outrage of the Black Lives Matter movement. It’s an intimate and relevant examinatio­n of a moment that showed the importance of taking a stand for something bigger.

Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami Netflix

Billy Corben and Alfred Spellman’s 2006 documentar­y “Cocaine Cowboys” was ahead of its time as a true crime madcap exploratio­n of the violence and ruthless characters of the 1980s Miami drug world. Now they return with a Netflix series examining two of the characters they didn’t get to include the first time around – Cuban childhood friends Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta who became the kings of the Miami cocaine-dealing world.

Kaley Cuolo of “The Big Bang Theory” stars in this mystery-dramedy about one terrible night that completely upends the life of a party-loving flight attendant. After she wakes up in a Bangkok hotel room to find that the handsome man she met in the air and bedded has been brutally murdered next to her, she must try to pierce the memories hidden behind her blackout before a host of increasing­ly nefarious characters get their hands on her. Your Honour Showmax Bryan Cranston stars in this grim drama adapted from an Israeli series and relocated to the humid heat of New Orleans. Cranston plays Michael Desiato, a respected judge whose life is thrown into chaos when his son is involved in a hit-and-run that leaves the son of a local mobster gruesomely dead. As he works to protect his son, Desiato strays increasing­ly far from the righteous path he’s spent his life walking as an upholder of justice.
