Jacob Zuma of Nkandla has a band of fanatical supporters who believe he has done no wrong and can do no evil. The Wenzenists (wenzeni being an open-ended question, “what has he done?”) are the most militant of the governing party’s RET faction that confuses theft of state resources with radicalism. The chief spokesperson of the Wenzenists is Mzwanele “Not Jimmy” Manyi. “Not Jimmy” was so emotional after the Constitutional Court refused to rescind its decision to sentence his hero to jail time that he said the judgment was unconstitutional because two judges dissented. The court’s majority decision also awarded costs against Zuma. “Not Jimmy” is no legal expert. But in the parallel world of the Wenzenists he’s seen as quite a boffin.
