1 THE RETURN OF PAMMY AND TOMMY

I never imagined stringing the words Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee and Disney together — but here we are. The Disney series celebrating their sex tape and other rock’n’roll high jinks is shortly to be streaming on a TV near you. The series celebrates the fact that Pammy and Tommy ushered in a global trend for the pornification of celebrity culture. In other words, how sex tapes can have a salutary effect on your cachet as an influential phenomenon. Now it appears that her ‘80s and ‘90s style choices, once reviled, are having a moment. Low-cut everything and strategically cut out dresses in shiny lurex are making a comeback with the current generation (whatever it’s designated letter of the alphabet). Prepare to be stunned by fire-engine-red swimsuits and a whole lot of sassy, as Pam once again has her day in the sun.

2 CLEVER CORVIDS COLLECT CIGGIES

According to The Guardian, crows are being recruited to pick up cigarette butts from the streets and squares of a Swedish city. When the wild birds carry out the task they receive a little food for each butt they deposit in a machine designed by a startup in Södertälje, near Stockholm. Apparently New Caledonian crows, pictured, a member of the corvid family of birds, are as good at reasoning as a human seven-year-old, so they’ve been deemed the smartest birds for the job. The Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation says more than 1-billion cigarette butts are left on Sweden’s streets yearly.
