Thabang Skwambane has been appointed CEO of Nahana Communications Group. Nahana is a collective of agencies, including FCB Joburg, Hellocomputer Joburg, HelloFCB+, McCann1886, Fuelcontent, Meta Media, The Media Shop, Craft, Lucid and Weber Shandwick. Skwambane was previously group MD of the FCB Joburg and Hellocomputer Joburg agencies; Joey Khuvutlu will take over this role.
The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (Seifsa) has appointed Tafadzwa (Taffie) Chibanguza COO. He will also hold the position of chief economist. He rejoins Seifsa from the Minerals Council SA, where he was an economist.
He has a BCom in economics and econometrics, a BCom (honours) in economic policy and an MCom in economic policy from Wits University.
Philip Morris SA has appointed Vuyokazi Xapa senior communications manager.
She was previously senior manager for corporate communications at Bridgestone Southern Africa and communications director at Black Mint Communications.
Xapa said she is excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in joining Philip Morris.
Mbulelo Sochifa has been appointed head of IT operations at Glacier by Sanlam. She has worked at T-Systems, Barclays, was vicepresident: lead technology partner at Absa and head of IT service management at Alexander Forbes.
She has a national diploma in computer systems engineering from the University of Johannesburg and completed the executive development programme at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.
