● KPMG SA has appointed Ignatius Sehoole as chair of KPMG’s Africa region and a member of the KPMG Global board. He is a chartered accountant with more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He served two terms as executive president of the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants and has been KPMG in South Africa’s CEO for more than three years.
KPMG SA chair Prof Wiseman Nkuhlu said: “Ignatius will implement a collective approach where clients will see KPMG’s Africa firms work together to represent the continent and have the ability to serve and create consistency in the way we do business.”
Nedbank Group has appointed Mteto
Nyati as an independent non-executive director on the boards of Nedbank Group and Nedbank and a member of the group IT committee.
He is chair of Wazo Investments and a non-executive director of Telkom.
He has previously been CEO of Altron, CEO of MTN SA and MD of Microsoft SA, and was named one of Yale University’s World Fellows on Global Leadership in 2004.
Nedbank Group chair Mpho Makwana said: “Mteto will deepen the boards’ ICT, digital, commercial and strategic skill set. We look forward to his contribution.”
International law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has appointed Carey-Anne Jennings as a director in Johannesburg.
Jennings specialises in debt and equity aspects of project finance and public private partnerships. She has advised clients on limited recourse project finance transactions, equity investments, partnerships and joint ventures, and syndicated and term loans.
