● David Ansara, executive director at the Centre for Risk Analysis at the South African Institute of Race Relations, has been appointed as CEO of the Free Market Foundation (FMF) from January 1 2023.

FMF chair Rex van Schalkwyk said: “David brings an excellent track record, a well-respected and regarded reputation and considered, informed intelligen­ce to the role.”

● David Lerche has been appointed as chief investment officer of Sanlam Private Wealth from January 1 2023.

He takes over from Alwyn van der Merwe, who retires at the end of March next year.

Lerche joined Sanlam Private Wealth in 2016 as a senior investment analyst and is now head of equities. He has a BBusSc degree with honours in finance and a postgradua­te diploma in accounting. He is a chartered accountant and chartered financial analyst.

● The Independen­t Regulatory Board for Auditors (Irba) has appointed Ntlambi Gulwa as director of inspection­s.

She is a CA and registered auditor with 16 years of experience in both private and public sectors, mainly auditing.

Gulwa joined Irba in 2016 as an inspector and was later promoted to team leader. In March 2021 she took up her current role in an acting capacity to replace Imre Nagy, who became the acting CEO at that time. Nagy is now CEO.

● African Bank has appointed Nolwazi Nzama as deputy chief risk officer.

She joins African Bank from Standard Bank, where she was head of non-financial risk South Africa. She held various other positions at Standard Bank, including head of credit card and head of vehicle and asset finance credit.

She has an LLB and BCom and has completed an internatio­nal executive developmen­t programme and retail executive programme.
