● Workday has appointed Carl Eschenbach CEO. He was appointed co-CEO alongside Aneel Bhusri, Workday coCEO, co-founder and chair in December 2022.
Workday entered the local market in 2018 and serves many blue-chip, South African-headquartered companies, including Absa, Pick n Pay, Old Mutual and Adcorp.
Bhusri will remain as co-founder and executive chair as well as serve as a strategic adviser to Eschenbach.
“Working alongside Aneel for the past year has been a highlight of my career, and has solidified my belief in the opportunities ahead for Workday,” Eschenbach said. “I’m honoured to serve as CEO of this incredible company, and to continue working with our world-class leadership team and more than 18,000 Workmates around the globe.”
● Gautrain Management Agency (GMA) has appointed Tshepo Kgobe CEO. He assumed the role on February 1 and succeeds William Dachs.
Gauteng MEC for transport and logistics Kedibone Diale-Tlabela announced the appointment in September 2023. Kgobe had served as COO at the GMA for the past four years.
Kgobe is an engineer with technical expertise in infrastructure, energy, mining and the railway environment.
He has experience managing complex projects and operations and was responsible for the engineering and project management of the trackwork subsystem at the start of the Gautrain project.
● Ravikumaran Govender has been appointed Momentum Metropolitan’s chief digital and technology officer.
He has been the Momentum Metropolitan group digital transformation executive and has more than 15 years of service in the financial services and consulting industries.
Govender’s qualifications include an MBChB from UCT and an MSc in management from the University of Edinburgh. He is also a certified retail banker.
