● Compli-Serve South Africa, a compliance and professional services firm for financial services companies, has appointed Tanya van Aswegen as COO.
She has been with the company for 20 years, beginning as a receptionist and working her way up.
Van Aswegen said: “Our director saw the potential in me and encouraged me to invest in my education and to stay with Compli-Serve to establish policies, procedures and processes for our head office, most of which are still in use to date. The key responsibilities of my role will be to ensure operations align with strategic objectives, translating these into actionable plans and initiatives, while working closely with stakeholders and staff in the business.”
Management consulting company Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has appointed Mamello Selamolela as partner to join its team in Johannesburg.
She joins from Vodacom Group, where she managed strategy and innovation in Africa and led several large-scale transformation initiatives across the continent.
She has experience in the telecommunications industry and management consulting and has previously worked at MTN and McKinsey & Co in London and Johannesburg. She serves as the chair of the industry advisory panel on digital transformation for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, has honours and master’s degrees from the University of Cape Town, and an MBA from London Business School.
Digital technology company MakwaIT Technologies has appointed Christopher Kistasamy as CEO. He takes over from founder Lethabo Mokone, who will become chair.
Kistasamy has 25 years’ experience in the technology space, in various sectors, and has worked at the Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority, Standard Bank Group and Absa, among others.
Mokone said: “I am an entrepreneur at heart and believe that, despite possessing the right skills, not all entrepreneurs are CEOs. Continuing to play both roles would stifle the company’s growth.”
Kistasamy said: “I’m excited by the employment opportunities that we can create, not only at MakwaIT but within the tech industry at large.”
