● Digital finance company Lula has appointed Buhle Goslar as its new chair. Goslar has experience in emerging market fintech, most recently as CEO of Jumo Africa.

● Personal healthcare supplies company Quantumed has appointed Avian Reece Bell as its new CEO. He was the company’s operations and IT director from April 2016. Before that he was operations and IT manager.

Bell has worked in various divisions, including local deliveries, warehouse stock control, sales, finance, marketing, policy developmen­t and client training.

The company said his “forward-thinking vision includes fostering partnershi­ps to enhance healthcare systems not only locally but also in neighbouri­ng countries, building on Quantumed’s existing internatio­nal client base.”

● Avanti Communicat­ions has appointed Chris van Rooyen as its new sales director. He has been in telecom for 25 years, 10 of them at Liquid Intelligen­t Technologi­es. He will report to senior vice-president of sales and South Africa country manager Gamze Aydin.

“Avanti is on the cusp of a new era in South Africa and I am thrilled to be part of this transforma­tive phase. It’s about more than the medium of connectivi­ty — it’s about speed, reliabilit­y, and continuous connectivi­ty,” Van Rooyen said.
