Jordi Vila has been appointed president of Nissan Africa and will replace Joni Paiva, who returns to the Renault Group.
Vila, formerly Nissan’s divisional vice-president for marketing and sales in Europe, has been with Nissan for 30 years and has experience in sales and marketing.
Vila said: “Africa is an important and strategic market for Nissan that will present many opportunities in the years to come.
“We have a strong local presence, and I’m sure we will continue to harness that expertise to deliver exceptional products and services for our African customers.”
Yellowwood, a strategic marketing consultancy, has appointed Wandile Nzimakwe as its growth and innovation strategy director.
He joined Yellowwood in 2017 as a strategy analyst and worked on brand and marketing strategy projects and initiatives across various sectors, including aviation, the automotive industry, technology, venture capitalism, financial services, telecoms and fast-moving consumer goods. After a brief tenure at Deloitte Africa, he returned to Yellowwood in January last year as senior data strategist.

Citizen Leader Lab, a leadership development and social change organisation, has appointed Lerato Phelane as a member of the board. Phelane who has experience in — governance, strategy, risk assessment and management, process optimisation, and fundraising is a chartered — accountant with qualifications in executive education from Wits Business School and Duke Corporate Education. She serves as chairperson of the Young Leaders ConnectIDEAL and the transformation committee at Netcare.
