The Mandela Rhodes Foundation (MRF) has appointed justice Catherine O’Regan as chair. She is a current trustee and will replace Prof Njabulo Ndebele, who has retired.

MRF CEO Judy Sikuza said O’Regan “has been an invaluable contributo­r to our work since joining our board”.

“Having been appointed by president Mandela himself in 1994 to serve as a justice of the Constituti­onal Court of South Africa, she embodies the key qualities that speak to Madiba’s values and spirit .I have confidence in the foundation’s continued success under the leadership of justice O’Regan. This transition aligns seamlessly with our new strategic 10-year vision, where we seek representa­tion of Mandela Rhodes scholars from every African nation,” Ndebele said.

O’Regan said: “It is a great honour to be stepping into the shoes of Prof Njabulo Ndebele.”

Julian Davids has joined Mazars Financial Services & Advisory in SA to spearhead the company’s new banking risk and regulatory services division.

He has more than 30 years of banking sector experience, specialisi­ng in regulatory reporting to the Reserve Bank and Prudential Authority.

He has worked for various local and internatio­nal banks including First Rand Bank, Mercantile Bank, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

He was also part of a team that assisted in the launch of Tyme Bank, where he spent more than five years as the head of regulatory reporting.

TFG has appointed Ralph Buddle CFO. He has been the company’s head of group finance and advisory since September 2023.

He is a chartered accountant with experience in the retail sector and was previously interim CFO of Oceana Group and a senior finance executive at Woolworths.

Chair Michael Lewis said: “On behalf of the board we congratula­te Ralph on his new role.

“We wish him well and look forward to his continued contributi­ons to the group.”
