Affordable housing developer Alleyroads has appointed Duarte da Silva as independen­t nonexecuti­ve chair. Da Silva, who serves on several company boards, is a former director of Merrill Lynch with deep corporate experience in especially the financial services industry. He is also a founder of Macquarie First South, among other ventures.

Alleyroads COO and founder Ivan Pretorius said: “We are extremely excited to have Dr Da Silva join the board of directors at Alleyroads.”

Vincent Marsicano has been appointed CEO and CFO of And Change, a global advisory and change management consultanc­y.

He joined the company 15 years ago and has been involved in financial and operations management, and strategy and innovation.

He has a PhD in physics from Wits University and completed his MBA at the Gordon Institute of Business Science. He said his vision for the business was to contextual­ise and advance change management within the African context.

Student crowdfundi­ng platform Feenix has appointed Lea Schafer as head of fundraisin­g and communicat­ions. She has a background in fundraisin­g and worked at Habitat for Humanity as part of its fundraisin­g team since 2017. She has a BA and a postgradua­te diploma in organisati­on and management.

Feenix CEO Cara-Jean Petersen said: “We’re excited to bring Lea on board to elevate our impact in the world of university funding. Her expertise from the corporate and NGO sectors is an invaluable asset.”

Commvault has appointed Ashley Baird as vice-president and MD of market expansion; she will also serve as chief of staff to Commvault president and CEO Sanjay Mirchandan­i.

She was at SoftwareOn­e for 16 years, most recently as president of its North America business.

Baird said: “Commvault has helped thousands of companies accelerate their transition to the cloud, where data protection, security, and resilience are key. I look forward to working with cloud providers to extend our partnershi­ps while helping customers advance their cyber resilience in the ransomware era.”
