Fraudster’s luxury houses to be auctioned on behalf of state
Park Village Auctions will, on behalf of the state, auction four properties formerly belonging to convicted fraudster Hildegard Steenkamp.
Steenkamp gained notoriety in December 2023 when the Johannesburg commercial crimes court found her guilty of stealing more than R530m. She was sentenced to 50 years in jail.
The auction features four Boksburgbased residential properties, each with assorted furniture.
Proceedings commence on Tuesday May 14 at 11am with the sale of 21 Killian Avenue, Cinderella (web reference 1475).
The double-storey, three-bedroom, three-bathroom house with a double garage and a two-bedroom flatlet measures 993m2.
Immediately thereafter, PVA will auction 23 Killian Avenue, Cinderella (web reference 1499).
Here, a three-bedroom home with a swimming pool and outbuildings previously used as offices are set on 997m2 of land.
Proceedings then move to 9 Cilliers Street, Cinderella (web reference 1500). The property measures 1,035m2.
It includes a double-storey, threebedroom home with a free-standing onebedroom flatlet, a double-storey outbuilding comprising two en-suite guest bedrooms and a double tandem garage with parking for at least five vehicles.
The final property to be sold is 7
Yellowwood Estate, 35 Smuts Avenue, Libradene (web reference 1503).
The 916m2 residential stand boasts a luxury double-storey home with three ensuite bedrooms, ample indoor and outdoor entertaining space, two tandem garages and staff accommodation.
