Fraudster’s luxury houses to be auctioned on behalf of state

Park Village Auctions will, on behalf of the state, auction four properties formerly belonging to convicted fraudster Hildegard Steenkamp.

Steenkamp gained notoriety in December 2023 when the Johannesbu­rg commercial crimes court found her guilty of stealing more than R530m. She was sentenced to 50 years in jail.

The auction features four Boksburgba­sed residentia­l properties, each with assorted furniture.

Proceeding­s commence on Tuesday May 14 at 11am with the sale of 21 Killian Avenue, Cinderella (web reference 1475).

The double-storey, three-bedroom, three-bathroom house with a double garage and a two-bedroom flatlet measures 993m2.

Immediatel­y thereafter, PVA will auction 23 Killian Avenue, Cinderella (web reference 1499).

Here, a three-bedroom home with a swimming pool and outbuildin­gs previously used as offices are set on 997m2 of land.

Proceeding­s then move to 9 Cilliers Street, Cinderella (web reference 1500). The property measures 1,035m2.

It includes a double-storey, threebedro­om home with a free-standing onebedroom flatlet, a double-storey outbuildin­g comprising two en-suite guest bedrooms and a double tandem garage with parking for at least five vehicles.

The final property to be sold is 7
